Getting it right - Delivering Excellence

We have experienced an extremely wet June in London! Our USA editors e-mailed to let us all know how sunny it is in New York! Even Wimbledon has been extended due to the rain; this is the wettest weather on UK record.

We have made a decision to extend our discounts until August the 20th which is the cut off date.

Student’s sometimes leave the application until the last minute.  It is important to encourage our clients to prepare for the university application.

This month we will focus on three ways to make sure you stand out as a candidate.

Spotlight – Standing out

So will further graduate education add value to your personal development?

So what are the best ways to make sure you personal statement or application stands out? We recommend a three step approach:

  1. Make sure you select the right university.
  2. Contact the professors.
  3. Send an outstanding application form.

Choosing the right university is paramount to your success.

The first goal is to establish if the university or program matches your needs. Preparation is important; contacting the professors will allow you to determine if the university and program is the right one for you.

You should also visit in person your top choice universities. A successful visit will take planning to make sure you come across as an organised, creative and academic student. Make sure you research the university before arranging any visits and ensure you ask questions that will help you make your choice.

The advice we give is to be well prepared and be honest. Remember that the program is very much based on whether you will enjoy studying the program as much as it is for the university to learn more about you.

An outstanding personal statement is vital to success, as well as this your application should represent you as an outstanding candidate. At Get Into Uni we will help you craft the perfect personal statement.

Top Tip

Avoid sending in an application that may be considered strange. An art student once sent a bra with her application along with “Flash – that is what I am”. This application was rejected!
